Great blanket, March 8, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Hotel Fine Linens Mercerized Full/Queen Cotton Blanket, Gray (Kitchen) I search for a very long time to find a quality blanket for our bed that was the right eight. Too many times I have found heavy blankets to be too hot and most blankets out there are too thin. This blanket was perfect! It is about the same weight as the Egyptian cotton ones but without the hassle of all the snags. Our kids have yet to destroy it like they and the dog did to our last blanket, the Egyptian one. It also does not attract dog hair at all, which is one fear I had when I read some reviews. My opinion, the finest blanket ever!

It's quite heavy for a cotton blanket, has a heavily waffle(ish) textured surface and quality tight weave. It is not lightweight.
It has a right side and wrong side so serves the purpose of a bed cover just fine.
We prefer a thin, down alternative comforter on our bed and because putting a "duvet" cover on it takes away the fluffy factor, we like to use a bedspread to keep our bed looking neat and tidy during the day. This "blanket" does the job just right.
It is nice and soft with a slight sheen and washes well but for a king or queen size you need to have a large capacity washer to launder it. You can dry this blanket in your dryer but plan on that process taking quite some time as since it is made of all cotton, it holds a considerable amount of water. My suggestion if you're washing this yourself is to hang it outdoors to do most of the drying if... Read more

In two months of continuous use and weekly laundering, I can report absolutely no issues or problems. It is very soft (used fabric softener) and didn't shrink, pill, or produce excessive lint. I tend to be rather hot-natured when I sleep and this blanket has been great. My partner tends to get cold and he likes it as well....perfect blanket, maybe? The shade of taupe is quite good, not too pink as some can be.
The blanket fits our pillow top king with plenty of room on each side but is not excessively long to hang below a comforter or quilt you might have on top. I am here today to buy another in a different color. I highly recommend this blanket. I did loads of research looking at blankets on various sites and this blanket had the best reviews of any I looked at in this price range. It really does deserve the five star ratings!
